...............Today is Edison Lamp Day, the day that Thomas A. Edison demonstrated the incandescent electric lamp in 1879. This day has been designated the date of Edison's achievement by tradition, but some records suggest that the actual day was later in the month.I've got an Edison light bulb and it STILL works!!! This bulb must have been produced before Henry Ford introduced the concept of planned obsolescence to American Industrial manufacture. They just don't make em like they use ta'! Interesting Link.
