Beginning..................

.......................of a continuing rant. Or so I hope. Mr. Nocera's article in yesterday's NYTimes provoked some serious thinking on my part. I was shocked to learn that I agreed with Joe Liberman, which I thought was as likely as me taking a vow of silence while holding and hugging a porcupine (bare armed and bare chested of course).
I would like to opine that the problem here may very well be that Communism is dead. Dead and gone with not a thing to replace it or fill the vacuum except for Capitalism, Capitalism without any conscience whatsoever. The Communist's seemed to keep the Capitalist's in check. A little bit of ying/yang, a force to push the pendulum back, something to keep Starship Earth upright and not listing to the right. The Communist's gave the Capitalist's a reason to have a conscience. Poofter!! All gone. Capitalism by itself is some very nasty stuff. And it is very apparent all around us: gas prices, food prices, job lay offs to protect the corporate bottom line. Why does it seem that for every 100 blue collar workers that get the kibosh only one suit follows? D'uh! Maybe it should be the other way around! It won't be too long before there are only cabbages and left shoes on the store shelves. I don't think Capitalism can continue to run amok like this. I sure do miss them Ruskie's. But they've all turned into Capitalists too. Still thinking for a good antidote here. Suggestions? Anyone?
